Managing Director & Principal Consultant 

Macquarie People’s Managing Director, personally manages our Executive &
Director Search & Recruitment Divisions nationally. Throughout her career
she has worked in almost every area of recruitment. Joan commenced her human resource career in 1976 as a Defence Force Recruitment Officer, seconded to an elite specialist Commando Unit.

Over the last thirty years she has been a highly specialised Executive
Search & Human Resource Consultant. She works nationally and internationally with Senior Management to select high performers who will improve productivity, profitability and corporate culture. Her previous positions have included Queensland Principal of national executive search firm, Intek Group and Managing Director and Principal Consultant of JMA Group.  Qualifications Joan has been accredited as an Accredited Professional Recruiter with the Recruitment Consulting Services Association (RCSA). She is also an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Her qualifications include a BA (Psych) from the UNSW and an MBA from Bond University. She holds various postgraduate degrees in organisational development specialising in Organisational Behaviour, Change, Culture, Performance and Benchmark Management.

Joan’s performance record has resulted in her being appointed to manage many small and large scale projects. She has also been invited to join many Government, Corporate & Educational Boards. These have included a 3 year Ministerial appointment to Gold Coast Institute of TAFE Advisory Council, 9 year appointment to Griffith University’s Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Board, Griffith University School of Engineering Advisory Board and appointment to the Gold Coast City Council's inaugural Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee. Joan has also been a Director of QCCI where she chaired their State Human Resource Committee, prior to it's name change to Commerce Queensland. Joan is also very proud to have been a founding Director of A. B. Patterson College Foundation and founding Chairman of “The Executive Club”. Joan has also recently been appointed as a Councillor on the RCSA's Queensland & NT Division Council. Joan has conducted several large scale Human Resource Audits, Outplacement & Change Management Programs. These have included a Senior Management HR Audit and Senior Management Restructure and Change Management Program for Gold Coast Institute of TAFE and Senior Management Outplacement Programs following the Merger of Comalco and Alcan and sale of Eracom Technologies to global IT Security market leader SafeNet . Joan has also managed many large scale preferred supplier programs. These include Preferred Supplier to Griffith University, Exclusive Recruitment Provider & HR Advisor to global IT Companies Eracom Technologies, SafeNet Australia and QM Technologies just to mention a few. In addition to 30 years specialised recruitment, Joan has extensive consulting experience in the areas of Executive Search, Business Analysis, Strategic Human Resource Planning, Human Resource Management, HR Audits and Restructures, Performance, Change Management, Culture Development and Outplacement Programs within both Government and Corporate Sectors. Joan personally mentors many of Macquarie's new consultants. She plays a hands on role within the company, treats everyone as equals and operates an open door policy.
